The Pitch

 

Set in the present time. A virus that has come from a dead unidentified species found by scientists. The virus has begun to spread turning people into bloodthirsty cannibals who feed on human meat. The sequence starts with the main character in bed, he begins to wake up but being tired he does not hear the radio, which is warning him about the virus spreading. In the background there will be some sounds of police sirens, screams and trashcans being knocked over, the main character then says bloody neighbours. He shots some clothes on and begins to walk downstairs calling his friends name, he doesn’t hear anything and a stunned silence immediately changes the atmosphere, a dog then runs past him with a finger in its mouth he begins to get worried and wonders what is going on. He then moves towards the kitchen as he gets closer the door slowly creeks open and a glowing light comes from the cracks in the door, then a deformed hand slowly comes from the crack in the doorway.

Our ideas relate to our final chosen genre which is a sci-fi horror comedy, we have used the convention of an alien this fits in with the sci-fi genre along with the use of blood and body bits this fits in with the genre of horror.


The creative ideas for filming we have thought of, is the use of a zoom in to give a close up of the second characters face as he eats the babies arm. We can also use the effect of a pull focus to focus on the radio as it gives out the warning of the virus. The use of a crane would be good to get a great high angle on the situation.

Our genre of film is sci-fi horror, films with this genre which have made the box office and made huge amounts of money are films such as I Am Legend ($256,393,010) War Of The Worlds ($234,280,354) Signs ($227,966,634).
